This year will be our third staying at Col di Lavacchio Holiday Homes. For us the huge advantage of staying here is the beautiful and inspiring countryside around us. Foraging flowers and foliage in the chestnut woods, tramping through fields of long grasses and wild flowers, fruit trees and olives, is a glorious experience. Everyone gasps when they first see the gorgeous house and their lovely rooms with views across the valley. Sitting in the shade of the wisteria on the terrace is the best place to enjoy learning flower skills, share pizzas or sip delicious wines. We always make sure there is at least an evening spent with Ailsa and Jamie, tasting Ailsa’s wonderful cooking and learning about the local medieval and natural history. On the last evening our dinner under the stars in the garden is a beautiful place to finish the week.
