Superb one-week Pilates trip at Lavacchio. Rural Tuscan hill top setting is spectacular - beautiful views over the valley surrounded by other hill top vistas. Their gardens/orchards are abundant with birdsong and wildlife. The large pool by the farmhouse is a sanctuary surrounded by a bounty of lavender plantings. Interiors also beautiful. Super-comfy beds, lovely furniture, walls hung with interesting art and textiles. Food was magnificent. Ailsa's cooking is inspired - super tasty, interesting, creative. I loved the chicken salad (moist chicken, fennel and herbs in a light creamy orange dressing), her home made marmalade at breakfast, amazing black garlic sauce on roasted aubergine starter, the wood-fired chicken and rib BBQ dinner, delicious green salads, shortbread cookies, passionfruit muffins .. I could go on and on. Every meal a total pleasure. Jamie is so welcoming and entertaining and helpful. A perfect host. They're a very interesting couple and you can see the love and attention that has gone into creating such a special place. You feel like you are staying at some great relatives beautiful home and abundant garden. Highly recommend.

Imaginative delicious meals featuring fresh garden and orchard pickings, coupled with well appointed comfortable accommodations surrounded by the vineyard and wildflowers combine for an absolute magical holiday setting. Jaimie and Ailsa are excellent personable hosts and happy to share local knowledge, including top notch trekking guides who tailored diverse walks in the Garfagnana for our group. Col di Lavacchio - 5 stars - most definitely.

Enjoyed a lovely week`s walking in this special place. Jamie and Ailsa are wonderful hosts, very knowlegable on the area but equally laid back and relaxed. The food and wine are first class and the accommodation very comfortable. Really beautiful yet quiet area for walking, from colourful beech woods to breezy summits and spectacular limestone peaks. Thoroughly recommended!

Wow - this place is ab-so-lutely stunning. From sunrise to sunset, I just couldn't get enough from looking at the views from the garden and the guesthouse (La Fattoria). The guesthouse is really cosy and very well equiped. There's multiple spots around it where you can sit and enjoy the awesome views. There's a couple really beautiful hikes starting practically right next to the garden. The hosts are great as well - both Jamie and Ailsa are lovely: kind, professional and always open for a good conversation. They know the area inside out and can take you on countless hikes in the surroundings. Ailsa's cooking is out of this world! I'll definetely come back when I'm in the area!
